Ocean Plastic Products was founded by Jack Hartwell in 1985.  Located on the west side of Santa Cruz, Jack and OPP quickly developed a reputation for high quality and expertise.  Jack employed traditional tools of the trade - table saws, routers and drill presses to fabricate a wide range of products from Point-of-Purchase (POP) displays to equipment covers to display cases of every kind.

Frank Mages purchased OPP from Jack in 2010 where he carried on the tradition of excellence that Jack had established.  Frank operated out of the west side shop until 2012 when he moved the business to a larger facility in Live Oak.  The extra space allowed Frank to diversify the customer base and the scope of fabrications.  The face of OPP changed forever when Frank purchased our first CNC router in 2013.   Frank chose the Limtech Orion 510 based on its capability, capacity and world class reliability.  Coupled with SAE's Enroute toolpathing software, OPP was able to expand its product offering dramatically to include parts with much greater geometric complexity, much higher accuracy and far higher run quantities.

Frank continued to operate OPP until 2015 when he sold the business to Bill Turner.  Bill continued to leverage the capabilities of the CNC equipment and software along with customer-specific vacuum fixturing to produce parts with smaller geometries, and parts with even more complexity and at even higher quantities.  Additionally, OPP now offers welded plastic enclosures and full 3D engraving in plastic, wood sheet materials and composites.
